How much is it out of the box ready to go for a visually impaired/blind person? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi, The S3 is actually still on Ice Cream Sandwich.I would say the Galaxy Nexus is the most accessible Android phone there is.It is pure Google, with no Samsung interface to clutter it up. Hi Sandra. You say you don't want an IPhone which is probably the most accessible, certain the most polished smartphone for us VI users on the market at the moment. You could look at something like the Galaxy S series of phones which run on Android and although I've no personal experience of these phones, the S3 has the latest version called jellybean which comes withexcellent accessibility so I've heard. Perhaps Steve Nutt might be able tocome in here and fill in the gaps. If you're planning on sticking with Nokia and Talks, the E series of phones like the E6 and E7 might suit you, however you wont get nearly as much choice when it comes to apps which are accessible though if you're primarily going to be using the phone for messaging then they're worth considering as both have qwerty keyboards. All the best and I hope this helps you with a buying choice.-----Original Message----- From: whizzaSent: Wednesday, September 12, 2012 5:23 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Mobile phone recommendations, please? Hi everyone, It's nearing the time when I will be able to upgrade my o2 phone and Iwondered what people were using and what people would recommend. At present I'm using a Nokia C5 with talks but realise that my next phone will probablyhave a touch screen. I definitely do not want an IPhone but anything with either built in speech or easily obtainable speech would interest me. I'm in town tomorrow so could go to the o2 shop and check out anything people suggest. Any help on this would be much appreciated as you might say I'm a definite dinosaur when it comes to the current generation of phones. Cheers, Sandra. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
