Hi Sandra.

You say you don't want an IPhone which is probably the most accessible, certain the most polished smartphone for us VI users on the market at the moment. You could look at something like the Galaxy S series of phones which run on Android and although I've no personal experience of these phones, the S3 has the latest version called jellybean which comes with excellent accessibility so I've heard. Perhaps Steve Nutt might be able to come in here and fill in the gaps. If you're planning on sticking with Nokia and Talks, the E series of phones like the E6 and E7 might suit you, however you wont get nearly as much choice when it comes to apps which are accessible though if you're primarily going to be using the phone for messaging then they're worth considering as both have qwerty keyboards.

All the best and I hope this helps you with a buying choice.

Subject: [access-uk] Mobile phone recommendations, please?

Hi everyone,
It's nearing the time when I will be able to upgrade my o2 phone and I
wondered what people were using and what people would recommend. At present
I'm using a Nokia C5 with talks but realise that my next phone will probably
have a touch screen. I definitely do not want an IPhone but anything with
either built in speech or easily obtainable speech would interest me. I'm
in town tomorrow so could go to the o2 shop and check out anything people
suggest.
Any help on this would be much appreciated as you might say I'm a definite
dinosaur when it comes to the current generation of phones.

Cheers,
Sandra.
