Hi Graham,

Yes this is a possibility but I was also thinking of the service whereby you
don't need to physically connect to your mobile but rather have an
additional card you insert into the laptop which let's you go online
wherever. Sorry, I'm struggling for terms here!!!

Thanks,

Phil

Hi Phil.

Presumably, any mobile company offering 3G services (as all 4 of them in the
UK do) should be able to give you this service. 3G was originally marketed
as offering the opportunity for users to download and watch videos but I
feel that placing more emphasis on the ability to surf the internet faster
would have been a better bet.

If you have bluetooth on your laptop, you should be able to use this to
connect to your mobile phone. From the little research I have done, Orange
seems to offer the best rates for Internet Access. Rates are generally
based on the amount of data downloaded.

Cheers

Graham

Hi,

Am doing some research on providers of 'go anywhere' broadband services -
I.e. connecting wirelessly via a laptop anywhere and not at specific
hotspots. So far I've only found o2 at £30 per month but surely there must
be others out there? Anyone else using such a service and if so how much
and how good is it?
Also I have a centrino laptop with wireless connection, will I need anything
else for such services?

yes I have done a Google but not much there, or perhaps I was searching for
the wrong thing!!

As ever any help gratefully appreciated.

Cheers,

Phil
