I've also read that on the Carphone Warehouse website. It's still a contract
though Andrew.

Mobile Internet, with a free USB modem.

  All the best

  Hi Guys

A few weeks ago, I discussed on this list the possibility of being able to
use a broadband modem on my laptop with one of the mobile networks, but
discovered they are all only available on contract. Then Mark Emailed me to
say that T-Mobile are introducing a Pay-As-You-Go service this month. I
promised to keep you informed of any news on this one.

I spoke to T-Mobile today, who informed me there is such a service about to
commence. It will cost £4 per day, and this allows you to download using up to
3GB. If you go on for a few minutes and then return to surfing later in the
day, your £4 will continue, as opposed to starting again, they said.

But the service is only available by ordering online, and they couldn't find
any information via their website about it. Very helpful. They said you have
to pay for the USB modem in this instance because it isn't on a contract. You
get a top-up swipe card which you can buy credit with in the same way you do
for airtime using your mobile.

  But having again checked on
  www.tmobile.co.uk
I can't find any information, and ringing Customer Services yields nothing.
I only got this information and a printout of Mark's Email by going to my local
shop. They were extremely helpful, but said they don't offer this service
in-store.

If I find out any more, I'll let you know if you wish.

  Jackie
