Hi Colin, It is likely that the line and mic in double up. In other words, depending on how much signal the socket gets, it probably self-adapts. I have seen computers like this. Greetings, I have recently acquired, a new Compak pc, model 6720s and it seems there is nowadays commonly no line in facility but mic only. Yet, if I go into the sound card properties and volume Etc. there are line in volumes and the like and these can be switched thus muting the mic. If there are no line in facilities, why does the system indicate their presence?
