hi john and list yes for me sendero has been fantastic for me now it would be
brill if one could acquire their database and say my user poi in to the sound
scape app. it just shows though it would be interesting though very diferent
devices to compare this with say the new device and the tekker or should i say
victor trek to me it's a lot of money £600 for a satnav device. again if you
can do it the best of all options is the winner but yes the sound scape is very
good. so just to clarify if i was on a bus do put put this in to the look
around mode to hear everything spoken for you. i did alter something in
settings to allow something extra to be spoken it was location i think.

First, I love Soundscape and the fact that
Microsoft have made it available for nothing
along with Seeing AI. I don't know what has
inspired MS to do this, but I'm very glad they have.
Next, I think the Afshokz headphones are quite
expensive - Trekz Titanium are around the £100
mark from Aftershocks and Amazon. Other makes are
available as previously mentioned which are a lot
cheaper, but I know nothing about them.
Re the search facility: It does seem a bit weird
to display search results which simply contain
the letters you type rather than begin with those
letters, but it could probably be helpful too, or
make you aware of places you didn't previously know about.
People have commented that some information is
out of date and I think MS could kill two birds
with one stone here. I wondered whether there was
a way to input places which are not already in
the database and for those places to then be made
available to the whole user base - rather like
Sendero implemented with User Points of interest
on the Braillenote etc. If they made this feature
available then surely they could also reverse the
process and allow people to delete inaccurate
points which would then be deleted for all users.
I suppose the problem here would be ensuring that
user data was accurate whether the user was
adding to or deleting from the database. Not
quite sure how this would work, but I'm impressed so far!

if you go into the section to add a beacon and
then instead of selecting one of the locations it offers you do a search
instead.
as you type in letters it will announce how many
it has found, but if you look at the results they don't all begin with

but it doesn't.
when i typed in the letter S it spoke and said it
had found more than 800 results and i thought there can't be that many
roads and shops and businesses around me begining
with the letter S so i looked down the list.
it had everything that began with the letter S
but not with them listed first they are listed in distance order with
inbetween
these were roads and streets like panier gardens
because it ended with the letter S and fairfield cressent because it
has the letter S in the middle of the second word.
so i then added the second letter W and the first
result it showed me was brookswood school because it has the SW in the
middle of the first word.
if this is the way it is ment to work it will be
fine if you know the exact name or live somewhere like a small village
otherwise you will need to do a lot of scrolling
down the results to find the thing you are looking for.
