Hi, You can choose where you save the docs, or you can tell Office never to save in the cloud. I think by default, they get saved to the clowd, but I believe there is a way of also saving documents to your own pc. I'd hate to be completely reliant on a clowd based documents folder. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of martin wilsher Sent: 25 February 2014 13:29 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Microsoft Office 2013 with JAWS You can mute the video. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ibrahim Gucukoglu Sent: 25 February 2014 13:26 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Microsoft Office 2013 with JAWS Hi Jackie. Microsoft want everyone to take out subscriptions, that way they can ensure a continued income stream hence why the perpetual licensed IE the non subscription versions cost so much more and have tighter restrictions on installations attached. Your Office 365 subscription will give you installations of Office for PC or Mac on up to 5 computers and 5 mobile devices. The installation is very straight forward, most of the buttons are labelled however I did have to use the OCR feature in JAWS sometimes to navigate a couple of the screens. They make you watch an intro video when you're installing it but other than that, the installation takes place in the background and you're thrown back to the desktop once you've made all the necessary installation choices. Good luck and let us know how you get on OK? All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Jackie Brown Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2014 1:10 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Microsoft Office 2013 with JAWS Hi Ibrahim I thought it was you who had 365, thanks very much for the feedback. Is it straightforward to download and install? Given that a single user copy costs quite a lot, I think we are going to go for the 365 version. You should remove an older copy of Office to avoid system conflict issues, I believe the Office 2013 installer for Office 365 will perform a preliminary check of your system and advise you to remove older copies of Office before allowing the installation to go ahead. It can upgrade an Office 2010 installation as the file formats used are the same, but Office 2003 I'm not sure about, especially with setting from applications like Outlook. I haven't experienced any issues using JAWS with Office 365 and I'm using the latest build of version 15. All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Jackie Brown Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2014 12:09 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ; 'BCAB Discussion List' Subject: [access-uk] Microsoft Office 2013 with JAWS Apologies for cross-posting, but I would be grateful for your opinions on which version of Microsoft Office 2013 works best with JAWS 15? We have been looking at various MS packages, and are thinking of Microsoft Office 365. Could anyone using this identify any problem areas to watch out for? Is it possible to run the latest version of MS Office with the 2003 version, or does this have to be completely removed before the new copy is installed? I am not particularly looking forward to this journey, but I guess needs must.
