Totally agree that the level of traffic this non tech topic has generated way
exceeds any off topic, whatever that means, subject.
This is a flexible list which until now has been relaxed enabling people from
all walks of life with concerns about a range of issues from computers to the
accessibility of other equipment, such as washing machines coffee makers etc,
to get helpful information. If this list was just a tech list, it would loose
its appeal to many who currently subscribe and probably half its membership in
days!

I repeat that personally I would like a moderator to be flexible enough to
allow an initial exchange of off-topic messages but once it appeared that this
was going to become ongoing, then for the moderator to suggest the people
