That information about the group may be out of date. The group info doesn't change automatically with any change in the nature or policy of the group.

Take look here

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/vi-genaccess/info?referrer=speakon

It says

VI - General Access is a Restricted Group with 199 members.

(Then further down says)

  Membership requires approval.
  Messages are not moderated.

Hi Derek,

I don't think it is.  The subscription details have been posted, and
it
worked for me, though I unsubscribed again, having enough lists to
fill my
time.

All the best

Hi Steve
As I understand it, Vi-gen  is restricted to existing subscribers of
that
list.

Maybe  be we need  someone to set up another  list, that can cover
domestic
products.

Hi,

But what's the point of rules, if you allow people to break them?  As
I say,
it could become a free for all.  I don't really know the answer, if
Vigen is
no longer accessible.

All the best

Steve

It seems to me that there have been so many messages on this topic, we
might
as well have carried on - smile!

I repeat that personally I would like a moderator to be flexible
enough to
allow an initial exchange of off-topic messages but once it appeared
that
this was going to become ongoing, then for the moderator to suggest
the
people concerned take their topic elsewhere.
