Hi Amro, Thanks for your encouragement. I'm determined to learn Voiceover as
it will stand me in good stead for the future as I will then be able to buy
whichever Mac I choose without worrying about upgrading and installing other
screen readers. The Air will suit my needs for a small Mac to carry around
and learn on and I am sure I will be thrilled with it, once I've learned the
basics.
I am glad your Sister is so pleased with hers. Where did you find the leather
bag for it? I asked Apple and they didn't appear to have one without a long
wait, I thought I'd try Ebay.

All the best, Annabell.

  Hi Annabell,

I wouldn't call it a mistake, not at all. don't worry about us geeks with our
specs obsession! The Air is a very stylish machine indeed. I got my sister a
Mac air with its elegant Apple leather bag to use it at uni and she loves it!
She had a nice netbook before that but it is gathering dust now I believe. One
of my brothers bought one too to use it when on the road but he ended up using
it as his main computer.

The Air isn't for me, but again I am one of those geeks who's awaiting the
release of the 2nd gen six core i7 sandy bridge processer to upgrade his
desktop. So each for his own, and if you can afford a Mac air, why not.

The real learning curve is with VoiceOver, and you will have to go through
this process regardless of any Mac you went for.

To be accurate, Aladdin and Wala'a are both sighted so their experience with
Apple doesn't stretch to VoiceOver.

So, enjoy your new purchase girl and have fun learning VoiceOver!

P.S. if you really, really didn't like VoiceOver after giving it a go, there
are ways around this but this is a different discussion for a different thread.

  Best,
  Amro

Oh Ibrahim, Well, I'll just have to learn from my mistakes. I'll enjoy
slipping it into my handbag, though, and it'll be nice to learn Voiceover
on! I do have two netbooks already, the Air is considerably lighter!
