It depends on what you call current. At the moment I have the Olympus DS50 which has a plus 50 percent and a minus 50 percent toggle. However I have just ordered the new Victor Stream player which has 5 levels of increase and several levels of decrease of playback speed, which I learned from the recording kindly put on the T& T consultancy website and that's plenty for me
The speed variation can be applied equally to daisy recordings, mp3 playback, mp3 talking books and text playback. However, I don't expect to receive the player for a few weeks.
Others on the list will tell you more about the speed capabilities of the book courier and the book port, but as I understand it the change must be applied to the file before it is stored in the players memory and can't be applied on the fly as the Victor Stream can.
As for the milestone, I'm afraid I have no personal knowledge of whether it can vary the speed of playback or not.
