I use Total Recorder from High Criterion - I think it may be possible to
edit using the free version. Everything can be done from the keyboard.

I am a fan of NCH applications generally for their ease of use and
simplicity. I've three paid for apps from them other than the free ones.
However, as John said, navigating through a file in Wave Pad is a real
pain.... So people, any other suggestions for a simple app to do
straightforward clipping from MP3 files please? There are tons such tools
on
the net but rarely accessible. I've install at least four so far but no
joy.
So come on, one of you wizards must have something up their sleeves! :-)

Hi Edan, as I said in my reply to Amro, navigating big files with it is a
pain. I think there's a way of doing it by percentage, although I've never
managed to do it. It's just a case of doing the best you can with it.
Hopefully one day they'll improve the transport. I don't know if it's any
better for someone using a mouse. It may be worth an email to NCH to ask
them if there's an answer.

Hi Amro, I'd suggest Wavepad from NCH. There's a free edition and a more
advanced pay edition. For the sort of thing you need it for the free
edition
will do fine. To trim or otherwise edit it's very easy. Having loaded the
file to be edited move to the beginning of the section you want to edit,
then set the first marker, which you'll find in the edit menu. Then go to
the end of the section to be edited and set the second marker. Having
that
just cut, either with control x or selecting cut from the edit menu.
