Hi DJ.

You could try MP3 Direct Cut. I don't use it myself but there's quite a few people using it on the PC Audio list. It's free, easy to use and can edit MP3's directly without first having to convert to a temporary WAV file which both Goldwave and Soundforge do.

There are some tutorials around as well if you want to look over what else the program can do.

Regards.

Subject: [access-uk] MP3 Splitter sought

Hi all,

I've some mp3 files that I wish to split into smaller chunks.

I've tryed mp3 split and book split. The latter being written by a blind guy but only supporting mp3s of 32bit.

The first program, "Mp3 Split", I can't get either Window Eyes or Jaws to click on the buttons in it, or label graphics.

The second doesn't support the mp3 file bit rates I'm working with, which is a shame as it looks a lovely simple to use program.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I can probably use mp3 surgeon, goldwave, or even if I wanted to go that route Soundfrodge to do the job. It seems a bit overkill to use big suites like these to do this simple job.

If I google there's loads of programs out there but before I go and spend some considerable time downloading, installing and testing these I thought I'd throw this one out there in case people are using straight forward programs to do this.

Cheers
Dj Paddy
