The blank messages are actually bad base64 encodings of the message
mine content. I use a text based MUA so this error is displayed to me,
but I suspect many other mail programs would show it as blank. I only
see this for certain senders and only on this list. Posts by the same
sender to different lists display OK.
I think the redacted sender is specific to yahoo (although I'm not
100% sure of this). Its annoying, especially as it doesn't actually
redact the sender.

Following David B’s question I belong to this list with two email accounts
and have the following anomalies.
If I send messages to the list from my work account, there are numbers of
listers who find that they are blank. Sending from this, my home account
seems not to replicate that problem.
However, I fail to receive messages from the list on this account more than
I get them. Messages were going to my bulk folder but that now seems to have
disappeared.
Also on this account on messages which do make it through, senders are often
listed as “Redacted sender”.
To bring Jackie and others up to date, George as mod had indicated that in
his view, a recent thread on the accessibility of coffee machines was OT. I
respectfully and gently took issue with that view and Ed expressed his
agreement with me. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following
