No need to get into arguments here folks.

The APH recorders are really mostly the four track affairs which are long in
the tooth now. The Bookport is made by Springer Design , although made to
APH's specification. Now, please don't tell me its another American
organisation, because I think I'm right on that.

The digital recorders are various makes, incuding Olypus of course and some
others. Most useful page for looking around starts at:

http://www.hagger.co.uk/products/voice_recorder/?textonly=

Dare I add, just to stir muddy the waters a bit further, there's always the
good old RnIB shop. No idea what they sell these days. Then again, if you can
get help with looking at the catalogue there's Argos with the no quibles 14 day
return policy.

Well, apart from the net itself, and all my suggestions are available on the
net, you've quite a few suppliers to go at there.

Well Andy, I'd say with Hagger its sort of six of one and
half-a-dozen of the other. Some of the stuff they do, for example from APH, is
made with the blind in mind, and I guess that would have to include the
Bookport which in many ways is similar to the Book Currier but that's been
covered here before. I think though that the Bookport does have a memo taking
facility if I'm not getting confused. (Its been that sort of day.)

On the other hand Hagger do mainstream stuff like the Olypus and
Sanyo recorders which they do not claim to be totally friendly or usable by VI
people, more the best that's available in their opinion in stuff that's not
made with us in mind.

I guess that, in short Hagger is the specialist in sound recording
gear for the visually impaired, over the last 20 years and more.

            Hi Ray -

Thanks for the Hagger suggestion, is all their stuff blind friendly
then? or only some of it? I was looking at the Sanyo digital recorder they have.
