Hello everyone,

It was good to meet some of the big names (and smaller ones) in the
world of access technology and services for blind and
partially-sighted people at the Local-Eyes exhibition, held today in
the Channel Suite in Folkestone. We had the great pleasure of meeting
Steve Nutt who showed us the small Talk Ultra, a truly compact computer. there is an excellent review on the Blind Cool Tech website. Steve also showed us the Edirol R1 and we chatted about his podcasts. Dolphin were there and I had a look at a PDA running Pocket Hal. I understand they are due to release a version which will run on mobile phones and a compatible list will be published soon.

the exhibition was well-attended and we didn't get to every stand, but is was great to have one in easy travelling distance from home. Well done to the local organisers.

Best wishes,

Clive Pallett
