OK so I'm supposed to be portrayed as that bad and not answer? hmmm, sorry,
not one of the doormats on here that sit and wait for everything done for
them so I'll go and try to help myself elsewhere!

Dave, you were complaining about unnecessary stuff on this list. don't you
think its time you let this one go?

OK so spelling something out so a screen reader user can understand it is
so
bad! Sorry I breathed!

Dave.

Your message actually made me feel quite sick ! It is not the first such
message that I have read from you this week and indeed, from other new
members who are so full of themselves that they actually look down on
people

of lesser ability, people like me. The arrogance is really unattractive
and

I for one openly and in public, would like to distance myself from people
like you and sadly, from this list, which I have been a member for almost
fifteen years. Below is a message I wrote to this list, only a day or so
ago but did not post as I did not wish to start a big debate. But I've
decided to post it below and later this evening quit this list and walk
away. i think my message explains quite clearly, despite the poor
spelling,

just how upset I am and how depressed I'm becoming witnessing what is
happening to the good old Access.UK.

To all my old friends within Accesas.UK, I wish you all the very best for
the festive season and the new year which follows and apologise for any
upset I may have caused, or any upset my following message may cause.

Get a life hen!

This is a perfectly legitimate topic for this list.

What is going on here? Why do so many new members feel that they have a
right to moderate this list in this way. Bad spelling, punctuation and
even, as in my recent case, off-subject topics, are a fact of life for
lists
such as this and will always be here.

If there is moderation to be done, then we are lucky to have a perfectly
suitable Moderator to look after things. Please send all your horrible
criticisms to him rather than to the list, so that people like me, don't
get
so publically hurt or humiliated.

I've been on similar lists for almost 20 years and these same old issues
are
raised and the poor people who have made these absolutely terrible
mistakes
end up feeling inhibited and afraid to contribute further. This is a
great
shame and I'm sure flies in the face of most mailing list philosophies.

So what! I make spelling mistakes! What is that to you? Perhaps I had a
terrible education because of my poor sight. Perhaps I suffer from
Dyslexia. Perhaps it was a spelling error , as in my case, because my
hands
are crippled with arthritis, or perhaps I'm writing this message using
only
my eyelids. What the heck is any of this got to do with you and how dare
you complain to the list, regarding errors which, as human beings, we all
make.

We are not machines! The computer is at our fingertips not attached to
our
shoulders. We are human beings who share a common interest and as such,
it's about time we started reaching out and helping each other rather than pointing out publically, our faults. Are there not enough able people out
there doing this to us already? Is there not enough discrimination and
bullying around us? Why do so many members tend to attack the less able
like me?
I'm honestly thinking of walking away folks. This list is sadly,
reflecting
the horrible attitude that I see every day in society. It should be a
place of peace, support and a place where people are valued and motivated.
I'm so angry with all these recent criticisms that it has saddened my
heart.

I'll never stop reaching out, even to those who hurt me. We have so much
to
offer each other and support we should and value judgments are for those
out
there.

Sorry guys. Just feeling a bit sad.

Very best wishes, as always.

The sending of two messages can sometimes be a fault of the system I
think
rather than the individual concerned. Sometimes problems can occur with
Free Lists.

Yes I agree with you but some of these people are so challenged they
can't
even understand they shouldn't send "me too" messages to the list, which
is
in the guidelines! Maybe the guidelines should be auto sent every month
to
remind these people who apparently can't think or remember anything!

Hi,
I do not object to links on list, I object to people not realising that
they
could save themselves quite often a lot of time just finding something
their
self instead of waiting for another list member to reply. I only take
this
stance regarding links, I obveously understand what this, and other
lists
exist for. Just making a comment is all. I wasn't trying to start an
argument, but as usual I was shot down for giving my simple opinion. And
Scot, I'll remove my signature (Yes, my signature which you don't even
need
to read if you don't want), just to make you happy. My signature gives
info
about how people can contact me, and is always below original messages.
Its
not like I say "Hey, read my signature first, then my message", or
anything
as stupid as that.

Hi James. Not everyone runs their list in the same way as you. If the
mods
objected to my query then I'm sure they would let me know about it. This list is designed in for list members to help each other out. The traffic
is
not huge on this list so I don't know why it's a concern to you. I don't
mind helping people out when I can and it doesn't hurt to help someone.
It
makes the list helpful all round if people like you could adapt the same
attitude. If you are having a problem with someone wanting to help or
providing a link why don't you just leave the list because the list
members
are not going to change their helpful attitude for your sake.

Hi all,
Just curious, on a list I owned a while back, I imposed a rule that
know
links were to be posted on-list unless a piece of software, or
particular
website was hard to find. Just wondering, seen as this list often has a
problem with traffic management, if it would be a good idea to enforce
a
similar rule? An example of messages that shouldn't be allowed are like
the one that someone posted today, asking for the link to cCleaner. I
find

it hard to believe that that person could not have just opened Google
and
typed 'cCleaner' in the search field. Just my thoughts.
