Does your Laptop have a DVI socket and your TV a HDMI socket? If they do, that 
is another way of connecting them.

Hi Graham,

 

Yes, you need an S-Video (SVHS) cable.

 

Of course each device does need to have such a connection.

 

Prices and suppliers vary, but suffice to say  that if you need one as long as 
60 feet, expect to pay no more than £20.
