Hi Mike.

I also bought some of these but it looks like they've been discontinued. I've emailed the supplier I used and will let you know when he gets back to me. they're extremely useful, and i don't think would be hard to manufacturer if the worst came to the worst. there are other products on the market from the likes of caretech, but how portable they are i'm not sure.

cheers,

Mo.

Hello folks,

I have here a light detector.  As far as I can remember it came from the
RNIB.

It is in a small plastic enclosure, roughly 2 inches by an inch and a
half and about an inch high.  It has a sliding cover on the top which
reveals a push button.

Light enters from a tiny hole in one of the sides of the device.

I would like to get hold of some more of these, but like so many other
things, it looks like the RNIB don't have them any more.

Does anybody have any idea of where else they might be available?

There's about a quid's worth of electronic components in it, including
either a 555 timer chip or a 741, a couple of resistors and a
light-dependent resistor.  But no doubt it costs an arm and a leg.

Mike
