No Steve, me neither, but choice is important so let's hope the UK market
can tap into this resource eventually.

Kind regards,

Hi Jackie,

I don't think you ever will be able to, unless International copyright laws
get sorted.  These are unprotected files if they are MP3 so nothing stopping
you giving them away.

I don't think this will hurt  Audible too much.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve

I haven't researched it thoroughly, apart from the fact that files are MP3,
and we can't yet subscribe in the UK apparently.

Kind regards,

Hi Jackie,

Thanks for this.  I can't see anywhere in what format the books are
presented.  I assume unprotected MP3?  If not, we're back to the same old
story again, if they are protected.

I also can't see an app for them yet, though I haven't looked very widely.

Also remember, you won't be able to play your books on Alexa, and that may
impact some people.

But it's good to see another options other than Audible.

Thank you for the information.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Libro.fm, an alternative to Audible?

Hi All

Apologies for cross-posting, but in the event you want to explore an
alternative to Audible, here is a link to Libro.fm.
https://libro.fm/
I have no experience with this company, but given the problems many are
finding with Audible's move away from specialist players, thought it might
be worth looking at, especially if you are allowed to keep the books you pay
for.

Kind regards,

Jackie Brown
