So what margin of error do you get with Moovit?

Hi Steve and David
I get the same 500 metre error even in my home garden It still gives that in
correct address However, if I set my actual house as a Favourite, then it will
guide me home. I did report it to the devs but got no answer.

Hi David,
It also could be that he’s doing it indoors, which is not great for GPS anyway.

As you probably know, there is something called satellite drift which can cause
variations in pinpointing a location.
I also live at 77, and have been given location from 70 to 92, along with some
in two close intersecting roads.
What I find particularly curious is that about 8 weeks ago, I put our house
name onto the gate onto the road, and within two weeks when Siri was asked
“where am I”, she gave me the house name for the first time.
Where was that data sourced?
In the case of Andrew’s issue, it may be buildings distorting the wave pattern,
in particular if they have steel in their structure.
Or it may be purely that the original data was inputted incorrectly.

Hi,
Well I live at house number 77 and it mostly gives me that, but occasionally
gives me 79, but it doesn’t get any worst than that.
My curiosity is peaked though, I will take a look at Moovit.

Hi Steve
Lazerillo constantly gives my home location as an address 500 metres away, when
I stand at my front door - very strange?

No, it doesn’t. But its routing, which is its primary thing, is much better.
For example, it has built in walking routing, which is better than Moovit, and
it also has the ability to use Google Maps or Waze to determine the route, if
you are in a vehicle. It can even book an Uber for you from your current
location.
Having said this, it’s a couple of years since I tried Moovit, but I’d find it
hard to beat Lazarillo nowadays for actual GPS routing.

Hi Steve.
I was commenting on your remark that Lazarillo was the GPS app you would choose
over Moovit. I asked you whether Lazerillo provided realtime public transit
information like Moovit does? Thanks.
