Don't you have to pay extra to use the 64 bit version of Jaws these days?

Hi Debby.

Essentially from a home user's perspective, there is very
little if any noticeable difference between 32 and 64 bit
windows. Most laptops and desktop computers come with 64
bit windows simply because most machines now have more
than 3 gigabytes of memory, the maximum addressable space
in 32 bit versions of Windows, in other words the maximum
Windows can use. When preparing to install JAWS, you
need to ensure you're installing the 64 bit version of
the software and you can get the latest download of this
from the Freedom Scientific website. Office 2003 should
work OK, though I've never installed it on a 64 bit
operating system, it is a very old piece of software
after all.
All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] Lap top advice please

Good morning all

I am considering buying a windows 7 lap top but the only
ones I can see that I like seem to be 64 bit. Can
someone please explain what the difference is between 64
and 32 bit computers, will it run with the standard JAWS
12 software and can I still use office 2003 on it.
Thank you very much for any help

Regards

Debbie
