Hi Pele.
If i were you, i'd try a factory default reset. the phone shouldn't be
behaving the way you describe. I've configured 2 of these handsets and
used them for all the most common tasks and they work well enough that's
not to say that software updates won't break anything. as for the
iPlayer radio app, in settings there should be an option for what to do
if the screen is closed. I haven't got my phone here at the moment but
its definitely in the main settings section for what the phone should do
if the phone screen's closed. i've set mine to remain on the app that
was last open instead of closing it down or minimising it. the phone
does have potential depending on what you want from it. i'm not overly
excited and haven't been recommending the phone because of the minor
issues i've experienced as described in my earlier emails, but for most
experienced android users wanting a straight forward keypad phone its
not a bad handset. its a matter of opinion really. when samsung bring
out their flip offering next year that bares similar specs to the
samsung galaxy S6, hopefully that'll provide a better experience for
people. lets hope they release it in the UK. It would be nice to have a
handset that just works out of the box and that's at the right price...
cheers,
Mo.

Hi Pele,
I must admit, I don't have one, but I couldn't get excited about it like Mo.
The spec is way too low to do anything useful.
Even worse, the UK model only has a 3MP camera, and the US model has an 8MP
camera.
I have read mixed reports about it. If it were as good as all that, I would
consider selling it, as one of my suppliers sells it, but they are too
problematic.
All the best

Subject: [access-uk] LG Wine Smart: Android Questions and Problems
Hi Everyone
I am afraid this message is rather long, so if you have no interest in
the LG Wine Smartphone, press Delete now!
There has been quite a lot of discussion on here about the LG Wine
Smartphone that has a numeric keypad as well as a touch screen.
I bought one of these phones and, so far, I am rather disappointed with
it. The keypad is nice, so it is easy to make calls, which is one of the
reasons I bought it, but the results seem rather unpredictable when
editing.
Mo very kindly sent me his notes on getting the phone up and running and
working with Talkback. But when I try and write in an edit field I don't
seem to be able to arrow through the letters. For example, when I typed
in my password yesterday I accidentally touched the on-screen keyboard
and a Y appeared at the beginning of the field. The only way I could get
rid of it was to delete the whole password and type it in again. I have
not yet tried texting, but I think this would drive me mad. And there
does not seem to be a reliable way of reading back the whole field.
Of course, I might have some setting wrong, which would make life easier
if I found out what it was. The volume keys don't seem to arrow through
the field, which is a shame.
Another problem I am having, which again might be easily solved if I
knew the solution, is difficulty when playing internet radio. I loaded
the BBC Sports app onto the phone and played 5 Live. I closed the phone
and it carried on playing, as I would expect, When I opened the phone to
stop it I was back at the Home screen, so had to find the app again in
order to stop the radio. This was a nuissance.
I have now loaded various updates onto the phone and it has almost
stopped working, that is to sayI can ring it up, and that is about all.
The volume seems to have stopped working.
So i would be interested to know what other experiences people have had
using this phone, and if there are any easy solutions to the problems I
am having. Otherwise, it is going back.
Apologies for such a long message.
