For those asking about this, I can confirm thus far that the TV will only
record the channel you are on, in other words, you can't watch one channel
while you record on another. I suspected this was the case when asked, but
I wanted to make sure. If you try to move away from the channel you are
recording on, you will be informed to that effect. So for those using a
TVonics and like this feature to record on more than one channel at any one
time, you had best keep hold of your box. It's not a deal breaker for us,
we rarely record now anyway.
I have set a timer for later this evening, just for the hell of recording a
programme to see what happens when the TV is in standby. Pressing the TV
Guide button though and arrowing to the programme and channel I want to
record is easy, it's very accessible. I made a tiny recording to test out
how easy it is to navigate an external device, and it is indeed
straightforward. I was able to find, play and then delete the test
recording I made. I plugged in a 1tb drive that I have, and have it neatly
placed beside the TV where it goes into a USB port.
I hope this is of use.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown
