Cool, thanks.

Does anyone know what’s the status when it comes to the Android app?

Hi Vanja,

Amazon released an adapted version of their Kindle for PC software, called
Kindle for PC with Accessibility Plugin.

It’s annoying in that the reading of the books is self-voicing, rather than
using your screen reader’s synthesiser/speech settings - your screen reader is
used to navigate the rest of the program.

To be honest I haven’t used it since the iOS version came out as access on that
platform is so much better.

I’m also pretty sure that the Kindle for PC with Accessibility Plugin doesn’t
support braille.

Cheers,

Ed

Hello,

I am pretty sure that this has been mentioned many times before, but is kindle
for windows accessible with screenreaders? Does one need to do anything in
particular to make it so or just downloading it from amazon website is enough?

Feel free to respond off list if you wish to reduce the list traffic.

Thanks.
