Hi Jackie,

I'm glad it's all sorted. It's a good job George is around to keep us on
track.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi George

Yes, that is why I chose that method. I only had books on it bought from
the Kindle Store, but the factory reset, and now the activation of speech,
has allayed any reservations I had about registration details etc.

Thanks to everyone for some really kind Emails about offering to buy, and
how to restore it.

Kind regards,

Having been through this a few times, be assured that a Factory Reset is the
ONLY secure way to deal with a Kindle you are selling.

All the books you have purchased will still be available to you from Amazon
through your normal account channels.

The exception here, BE WARNED, are items which you have added from other
sources. For example, I have created a number if "Kindle" files for
software we sell, and those will not be saved. Hence you do need to take
care there.

George.

Hi Ian,

Is the archived items a physical folder on the Kindle or a folder in the
Cloud. However, I take your point and if one can do a factory reset, that
would be the way to go.

Cheers,

Mike

but doing that won't delete them from the archived items folder. Whereas
the factory reset will leave the machine blank.
