That's exactly what I do David, and I think you are right in believing it
does shut down once the screen-saver message speaks.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Alfred,

I did not answer you because I am not entirely sure, but I think that when
the KK shuts down after a few minutes of not being used, then it is in the
same state as if you had pushed the on/off switch to the right.

One thing you may not have thought of. If you are reading a book and wish
to know the percentage of the book you have read, all you need to do is push
the on/off key, wait a few seconds and turn on the KK again. This will
announce the percentage of the current book read.

David

Thanks Jackie
I was following all your threads and those of the people you mention below
and this is what helped me too to come to the decision to purchase. Just
going through my mail now but not sure if anyone answered the question I
asked yesterday in relation to KK going in to standby mode. If I have not
physically turned it off and it goes in to standby is battery still being
used?
