I think you're talking about the Standscan. I bought one from the US and
it's so flimsy as to not be worth it. I took it to two exhibitions and it
started falling apart, so I won't sell them.

This is so far the only model of stand I have seen but the Apple-Vis podcast
was using a stand with LED lights so he didn't need the flash facility when
using the new multi-page facility on the KNFB.

www.giraffe-reader.com. It's made here in the UK and is available for the
princely sum of around £35 or so, not much at all when you consider how
useful and robust it is. Great for iPhone's up to the 5S and the iPod Touch
range, Sam who makes this stand is also working on a version for the iPhone
6 and 6 plus.

I have just been listening to the Apple-Vis podcast on KNFB where they are
announcing the free 25 scans on the new upgrade. It says something about you
being able to download the locked version but once your 25 free scans have
expired, you will need to pay the $99.99.
What did interest me is the new feature for scanning multiple pages. I know
about the Giraffe but it would appear there are other stands which can also
be used to assist with scanning multi-pages. What do folk on this list use?
Also, in the demonstration, they are using a Bluetooth keyboard to
manipulate the app. How easy/fiddly is it to operate in the usual fashion,
swiping and tapping etc.

There is a little confusion as to whether or not this try before
you buy is actually available. A tweet from them says:
Due to an unforeseen problem, Try Before You Buy is not available
in
V2.0 but is coming soon in V2.1.
Still, the update to 2.0 is there in the app store and says that
you can now try free for 25 pictures.
