hi ok me thinks we're loosing the thread here a bit.
when you start your pc, if you go in to the run dialog box type in:
Services.msc
locate the audio spooler and right click on it, then choose end process.
then reload the service by right clicking and choose start, this should have cleared the spooler and you should have things back to normal.

Yes Ray I would agree with You, I think it is the orpheious synth that causes this problem I had this problem using Hal and other programs as well.

I remember when I used Hal with total recorder and the sound driver you are ment to be able to record the show you are recording and use your screen reader at the same time but I could not do this using the Orpheus synth!!!

But when I used a sappy voice it worked fine but I still like producer all the best.
