Hi Wally,

I suspect if you turn off the Windows Firewall, it
will work. Many people are getting tripped up by
this.

You will find it in Control Panel.

George.

        Subject: (Jaws-UK) - Norton 2004 under XP
service pack 2 problem

I upgraded a machine which has Norton
anti-virus 2004 on it and another two
with older versions of Norton anti-virus
on them

the PC with Norton 2004 now throws an
error when I try to run live update.
        it says:

        LU1803: Liveupdate failed while getting
your updates...

It then says that live update encountered
an internal error and that I
should try again later but if I get the
error again I should reinstall live
        update.

Can live update be installed separately? I
didn't think it could, but I'm
        not entirely sure.

secondly, I'm wondering what it is about
Norton 2004 that makes it go wrong
under service pack 2 despite running live
update before upgrading in order
to prepare it for SP2? Incidentally, the
earlier versions of Norton are
        fine! no problems!
