Hi Terry,
There is indeed a Window-Eyes mailing list. Just go to the support link on the G W Micro website and go to the mailing lists link and subscribe from there. As for your other problem, it just means that the browse mode buffer has loaded. Just press shift, plus control, plus A and you'll hear a clicking sound and then you can write your e-mail without a problem. Don't know why it does that but I've got so used to doing it now that I just don't think about it.
