Hello Alfred.

I think I have some good news for you!

I have just run some tests here on my Windows XP machine. I removed the Java Access Bridge first and ran both NVDA and Supernova. Without the JAB installed, of course, both screen-readers fail to 'see' Java applications and applets, including the Java control panel app.

Then after re-installing the JAB BOTH screen-readers make Java applications and applets accessible.

I am running Supernova 11.5, so your version 13 should work with the Open University Java applets in their Web pages.

Note I'm running XP. I imagine things will be equally good on 7 or 8.

Mike

Well as of now John, some helpful people on list, Ray and Kevin but at time of writing I have not downloaded anything or installed anything as I do not know how. I will seek assistance tomorrow from the company Microlink who provided my laptjop in the hope that they might assist me and if they do not I will come back to the list again. I want to try and get this up and running as I require it for my study. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Gregory" <jgm.gregory@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Alfred, yes, it would show up in add/remove if it was installed. As Ray is helping with the installation of access bridge, I'll let him guide you on the manual installation.

John.

I don't know John because when I go to Control Panel and to Java, it does not show up. Maybe it would show up in Programme Add/Remove.

Hi Alfred, do you have Java already installed?

John.

Thanks John. Do you have a link or do I just Google for it?

Hi Alfred, yes, JAWS does interact with Java via a small program
called java access bridge.

access the on-line tutorial at the Open University. Does Jaws work kwith Java?
