Graham.

The scripting capabilitys are good. However, I think Window Eyes works
better with apps straight out of the box.

Additionally the scripting is not going to be done by the average home user
or someone who doesn't enjoy programming, (if only at a somewhat basic
level).

I think Jaws is a comfortable screenreader, but only like an old pair of
slippers.

in short, window-eyes is good for those who use microsoft applications.
support for powerpoint, excel and the microsoft calendar have definitely
made it a more viable product even for the work place than it once was. It
does not have the scripting capability of jaws though so may not be as good
for working with bespoke applications specific to particular industeries.
that being said, it is very much true to say that window-eyes has many areas
of strength and is catching up. If sales increase significantly this will
give the company more time to put into research and development and it can
start to do something about the features which still give jaws strength e.g.
configurability and a far better more intuitive help system.

Oh well like I said, I only took a brief look, so apparently missed out =
all
the details.

I find that the product does what I want it to do so far, but just so I =
can
say I've tried it I'll look into WE and see if it is indeed a different
animal so to speak.

Cheers,

Mark

This is shocking.

I've just been reading the latest disaster and can not believe somebody =
is=20
honestly going to pay for this.

This thing isn't even supporting Vista for goodness sake!

And what is all that SAPI Alia's stuff about in say all?

OMG, that's a new feature?

More and more nonsense!

I'm raging because, I like many wasted my money on this rubbish for =
years!

I'm disgusted because, many still will! Also rehab agency's and that =
whole=20
area will thrust this product on unsuspecting souls.

Note: this is a consumers viewpoint and I think it's utter pooh. Barry =
