Sorry buddy, I'm not sure how you do that in other screen readers. I'll leave answering that to the Window Eyes users!

Cheers,
Amro

Hi Amro, & All,

Thanks for that.

Now do you know if those other screen readers have the faacility as in Jaws whereby you can route Jaws to PC?

I NEED THAT FACILITY TO BE ABLE TO ctivate my 3 mobile broadband as discussed in an earlier thread.

Oh sorry, Tony, I missed the earlier message you speak of...

Well, in this case, you can run either Jaws10 or Window Eyes in the 40 minute mode. Another suggestion is SAToGo; you need to be connected to the internet to use this one. Go to satogo.com and follow the spoken instructions. NVDA is certainly a good alternative screen reader too.

I missed the earlier thread so hope I'm not just repeating something you already know.

Cheers,
Amro

Hi Amro,

Don't know did you see my original email to the list on the subject of a temporary replacement for Jaws!

I will be getting Jaws 10 in the next couple of weeks but need something screenreader-wise to tide me over.

I can post the list on another occasion with the problems I'm having with Jaws 8!

Someone off list suggested NVDA which might do for now.

A peculiar thing happened that I somehow activated another voice whilst on Jaws so when I unloaded Jaws the other cvoice went also!

Now I don't know if it was another jaws voice but the two were reading an email I was ron both together.

The voice sounds like what you would hear on a mobile phone reading emails; not.

As far as I remember I have only NVDA installed as another screen reader!

Thanks

Tony

Hi there Tony,

What's the problem? Why are you looking for Jaws replacement? Other than me being nosy *Smile* it'll help us giving a good advice if we know the reason...

Cheers,
Amro
