Hmm, I personally don't like the WE laptop layout, but maybe you find it
better than the default layout. The move was difficult for me; in fact,
I have to confess I hated Window-Eyes first when it was at 4.2, but when
4.5 came out it got better, and 5.5 has gone one step further. The move
will be difficult, but if you read the help, listen to the tutorials,
and, I think most of all, join the gw-info list, then you should be OK.
Also, you're more than welcome to write me off list if you have any
Window-Eyes queries or problems, and I'll be more than happy to help

Aww, let me pass on my sympathies. I had lots of JFW issues, and never looked back when using WE 5.5. You'lll love it! Anyway, in answer to your question, I haven't a clue. I don't know if you know this, but WE 5.5 relies on the document object model (DOM) in both Microsoft Word and Excel, so documents will be read out accurately 100% of the time, whereas JAWS relies on the screen, not the DOM, crap eh? No, the problem doesn't occur in virtual cursor mode as that relies on MSAA. Anyway good luck with the move, and please let us know what you think of it. Look forward to hear from you.

It will read, line 1 of the following only if I highlight the text and line 2 no problem.
This does not happen in virtual cursr mode such as in Outlook Express, IE etc. It also does not happen in Windows Explorer.
