Hi Kirsten,
The Check for updates feature was introduced with JAWS version 7.10 and upward.
You can double check what version you're running by clicking the About icon
from the JAWS contexts menu. Users of JAWS 7.0 and downward download JAWS
updates from the Freedom Scientific website. Whether users of version 7.10 will
be able to update to version 8 using the JAWS automatic update feature, I don't
know. But don't worry, keep an eye on this list or the JAWS emailing list and
you'll see hundreds of emails about updating when the time comes! In any case,
you should get a CD through the post from your dealer when a newer version of
JFW is released as your licence includes two major updates.

I don't have a "check for updates!" option, only something called "Update
authorisation" which I'd rather not touch in case i mess something up ...

You'll get the next couple of full upgrades - 8 and 9 or 8.0 and 8.2 or
whatever - you'll be able to update by selecting 'check for updates' from the
Jaws menus but if you don't do that you'll be sent a Cd from whoever you bought
Jaws from with the new version on it when it's released.

Hi, I have had J7 for a year and have as part of the license 2
upgrades, does this mean I get 8 and then 9? or is it .1 and .2? How does it
happen, does the company just contact me? or do I do the updates myself from
the computer? if so, how do I do this? I thought I read something about this
from George Belle the other day ..
