But it does work, doesn't it? Like £99.99 isn't quite 100 quid. We believe
what we want to hear.

Two or three comments will be enough from this non-JFW user.

Doug of GW says that Eric Dammery has admitted JFW dowsn't work propperly
with MS Access.

GW's access to Excel will be second to none in the Fall. Same will go for
Powerpoint.

Firefox will be usable by Window-Eyes too in 5.5. So will Sonar.

For those people who have stopped shoveling money FS's way to cover upgrades
or SMA's then, if you want to keep up with the game, they'll get you
eventually. Friend of mine spent £400 plus last year upgrading to the Pro
version, or whatever its called. She's now being asked to spend another £400
to keep current.

I do NOT pretend for one instant that WE can solve the immediate problems
around some programs, which are either badly designed from the outset, or
whose develpers dont give a fig for screen reader access. That goes for
Coral and WordPerfect. Access vendors are simply deafed out by them.

Given a longish time frame I am sure that GW will address all aspects of MS
Office, and I wish they'd prioritized that sooner. I think version 6 may
well see substantial improvements and inovations in the abilities of set
files too. GW is up against the lead HJ established back in the 90s. FS
seem to have squandered that, if not lost the plot almost entirely. I'd say
from what I hear of JFW 6.x the version numbers game has to be resorted to
more and more to give the appearance of superiority.

This is without consideration of human-to-human support which GW is justly
proud of. Its probably fair to say that Window-Eyes - and maybe Dolphin's
HAL - are far more trustworthy candidates to be trusted on a server for
remote access, which for some may become important soon.

Meanwhile the true supporterssupporters here have to fall back on football
type support of the product, a bit like Man. U supporters. Don't think they
won the cup last time around did they? If FS continues with its present
stance, it might lose like Government's losing elections rather than
oppositions winning on their policies.

Its understandable the JFW industry and all its self-assured, sometimes
Royally supercileous, hangers on resort to impatient in-takes of breath, as
one Royal did last week when I was looking at Apple's screen reader.
Everyone has to earn a living I guess, and the school of script wizzards
certainly does. And will carry on doing so, as soon as their latest efforts
get broken by software developers. Oh, well that's the way the money goes.
