Hi Kevin. Thanks, yes I was aware of how the OCR function worked, but was wondering if anyone had tried it on any DVD playback software or was using an accessible DVD player. Do you use a computer to watch dvd’s by any chance? If so, what do you use? All the best, Ibrahim. I've only heard about this DVD access from the new access talk podcast but if I understand it correctly, Convenient OCR is used to recognise the screen and then actually allows you to navigate the scanned image and activate functions. I wouldn't therefore think it would be any better or worse with any one given DVD playback software in theory. I'd certainly just try it with whichever application you're using at present or have available in the first instance. Regards. Its been a while since I’ve asked a question on here, so I hope you’ll oblige me. I’m just about to upgrade to Jaws 13 with the convenient OCR function. One of the promises FS makes in this regard is the accessibility of DVD’s, in particular with regards navigation of DVD menus. What they fail to mention or what as yet I have not seen mention of is which DVD playback software they’d best recommend for playing DVD’s. I’ve used a number of DVD programs in the past all with varying results, so if anyone could shed some light on DVD players they’ve found particularly good with keyboard navigation shortcuts and general interface accessibility, I’d be grateful for the feedback. All the best, Ibrahim.
