Andy, I am pretty certain that Open Office isn't really usable with any screen reader yet, even with the JFW Java AccessBridge. I don't know it would do any harm to install it as such, but neither will it benefit you, or at least I wouldn't think so.Some upgrade though! Open Office is a pretty hefty download, unless it's some sort of "light" version.Cheers, Ray.----- Original Message ----- From: "Andy Collins" <andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>Subject: [access-uk] Java upgradeHi all -I keep getting prompted for a Java update on my Vista laptop. Is it wise to go ahead and install it? It seems to come with a word processor and spreadsheet programme called Open Office.org, that it says is compatible withWindows, and is easy to uninstall later; Some of these add on programmes weknow can cause problems with our screen readers etc, so does anybody have any experience or advice regarding this upgrade and it's installation please? - Andy** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
