I experienced a similar problem with my dell desktop. In my case, my graphics
card provided dual monitor support and this was the issue. I could install
JAWS once but trying to upgrade to a higher version resulted in that blue
screen of death.
The graphics card is a radeon x300 if I remember correctly. The way to resolve
the problem is to disable the secondary driver.
So, I went into device manager and display adaptors, and in the properties of
the secondary driver, checked the disable checkbox. This resolved the issue
for me.

Can anyone help with this one please?
I have just purchased a new Dell laptop with Windows XP Pro. Pentium Centrino
1.7GHZ Mobile processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM memory, 100 GB hard drive and
DVD re-writer.
Unfortunately, every time I try to install my 5.10 XP pro JAWS the laptop
comes up with that blue screen of death.
The message that appears is something like "JAWS SVID.dll dumping to memory."
There is also a long series of numbers that seem to look like a memory address
and then the laptop crashes and has to be turned off.
On turning the laptop back on again it will work perfectly but the JAWS 5.10
just will not install.
I have managed to install an older XP pro 4.2 version with no problems but I
would like to get it up to the 5.10.383 which is the version on my desktop PC.
Any help much appreciated!
