Hi.

I believe everything is working now, however just to remind all that you
will only be offered the JAWS 2021 update if you have a valid SMA which
entitles you to the next version of JAWS, you can check this by going to the
jaws help/about option to review your SMA count.  As for the JAWS licensing
question, if you don't have a current SMA you should contact Sight and Sound
who may be able to offer you a discounted SMA renewal depending on your
version of JAWS, usually they only offer these during summer convention time
however I have heard of people getting their discounted renewal at other
times of the year, it all depend on how nicely you ask *smile*.

All the best and good luck with the update everyone, there's some neat
functionality in the 2021 upgrade, the voice assistant and direct OCR into
Microsoft Word being two examples I'm personally looking forward to playing
with.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Even that's not working at the moment as the site is down. There are no
connections able to be made to the update server.

Hi.

If you have JAWS 2020 installed, you can use the check for updates function
and download the 2021 release that way, that worked seamlessly for me.

I have a full offline copy of jaws 2021, so I could dropbox it if anyone
wants it *smile*  this would get around the site being down atm. And yes,
it's a legit copy! Just downloaded before the madness started.

Hi Ibrahim,

Well you spoke too soon.  As I type, the FS website is completely down.  So
this update must be popular <Smile>.

All the best

Steve

Hi Everyone.

Just a heads up to everyone using JAWS 2020, you will shortly be prompted to
upgrade to JAWS 2021 if you have a current SMA count remaining.  I was
prompted to do this this evening and I'm pleased to say the upgrade and
settings transfer process went smoothly without a hitch.  I can honestly say
too that upgrading has been one of the  smoothest experiences I've ever had,
especially considering this is a major not minor release to the software.

All the best, Ibrahim.
