Thanks for these helpful links. I'll take a look but think I'll let some of these newbies settle in first, if you see what I mean!

Hi Carol,

Yes. At least this is what it says on the box. You can also stream media files directly from the HD to more than one mobile device, and the HD can be used as a router too. However, my personal experience with such devices is very limited - my wife received her Seagate Wireless yesterday and I only had time to have a very quick look. All I can say for now is that VoiceOver can read most of the Seagate Media app buttons but how easy it is to use I’m afraid I still can’t say.

If you type in Google (wireless media storage for iPhone) you’ll get few results for different makes and models such as My Passport Wireless, Seagate Wireless Plus. Etc. here’s below two sites with reviews for some of the devices out there for your convenience

So can you transfer items directly to and from the iphone with such a
device, please?

Hi, I’m sure this stick has its use, but if one is looking for something that has pretty much the same features but with a lot more bigger storage size they may like to check out wireless media storage devices. You’ll get more memory capacity for your money.

Hello

Somebody mentioned this on the list yesterday, so I took the plunge and
invested in one and received it today.

I transferred an album on the stick and after downloading the Istick app on the Iphone, inserted the stick into the phone, as it has a lightning adapter
for the Iphone 5 and other models.
There is a button on the stick which slides two ways, one way releases the lighting adapter necessary for the Iphone, the other way releases the USB
adapter for the computer.
Once inserted into the Iphone, I could choose between what was on the stick
or iphone and located what was on the stick with ease. I then copied an
album from the stick onto the Iphone.

To do this, I looked for an album, double tapped on it and looked for an
edit button. After double tapping, I then selected all and then found 3 unlabeled buttons. The first is an erase button, the second copies files and the third allows you the ability to move things from the stick directly
to the Iphone.

You have the ability to say where you would like your files to be stored on the phone, in pre-defined folders within the Istick app like movies or music
etc.
When you find the three buttons voiceover just says "button" but I double
tapped on each to see what they did.

When I copied my album to the phone, I removed the Istick and closed the app down. I opened it again and went into the Iphone tab within the app. There, you'll find things like backup, documents, photos, movies and music.
I opened music and hey presto, there was my album.

You can also backup contacts from your phone which I did easily and you can
restore these as well from the Istick directly to your phone.

Yes, the stick is expensive but I'm glad I purchased this and can see it
being extremely useful.

I hope this helps somebody out.

Best wishes, Julie.
