All the best

I am also facing the same issue in zoom with all of my Bluetooth headsets. I
have tried five different Bluetooth headsets, but the issue is same. In my case
I have to unpair my bt headset in order to listen jaws sound again albeit
having been zoom closed.

Hi Steve,
Have given this a go and sadly the same issue still persists.
I have noticed that in the list of playback devices it lists my bt
device as both “headset sound/voice default” and another entry for
headphones however I’ve ensured the exclusive control option is off for
both.
I have a usb headset which I’ve not had this issue with but it’s an
old wired one and I wanted a good bt option so didn’t have to wrry
about wires.
I’ve also noticed as soon as I go into Zoom, Skype, Teams, to look at
audio settings everything goes quiet and I have to close the program
down to get Jaws back.
It’s really annoying as otherwise the new headset is great but
obviously if I can’t fix this then will have to send them back and
look for another option.
Thanks as ever,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
OK, try this:-
Press Windows+R to bring up the run menu, and type “mmsys.cpl”
without the quotes.
This should drop you into the sound card settings.
Select your playback device, in this case it will be your Bluetooth
headset, and press your applications key, then select Properties.
Shift tab to the tab controls and then right arrow to Advanced.
Now tab to Allow Applications To Take Exclusive Control of this device?
This box will be checked. Uncheck it by pressing space bar, then tab
to and press OK.
Now you should be OK.
What’s happening is that when Zoom or Teams grabs the sound card,
JAWS can’t open it.
I hope this helps.
All the best
Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Issues with Jaws & new bluetooth headset
Hi All,
Hoping someone can help with what is proving to be an infuriating
issue!!!
I’ve just got a new bluetooth headset to use with my Dell Win10 laptop.
The headset in question is an HPOW ro and I’m using Jaws 2018.
The headset paired easily with my laptop and is fine when I’m using
it to navigate with Jaws, play music etc however as soon as I go into
MS Teams or Zoom it goes quiet and Jaws doesn’t speak. I’ve checked
the default sound settings and am a bit vonfused as it comes up with
an entry for both a HPOWE headset as well as HPOW headphones but no
matter what I do id doesn’t seem tto make a difference. I’ve also
gone into Jaws ettings and told it to use the HPOW headset but no joy.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what I might be doing wrong?
With best wishes,
Sarah
