[access-uk] Re: I-phone too long winded

I was totally bowled over by iPhone but sold my Nokia to get it so had to stick with it. I do think some of the apps are novelties, I have purchased and downloaded many that I really don't use but no: I would never now go back to a Nokia because, as stated, these phones are really like having a mini computer.

I can't wait to change to Android though because, much as i realise that Siri is fantastic it is almost robotic and even though Android is less accessible I think it will be more straightforward to use ultimately.

I also don't like monopolies but do hope I can still access mobile TV through Android as I follow the tennis on Sky TV. Someone told me this is available through Vodafone so I do hope this is correct.

Mandy.

Barry, how long have you been using it? I'd say stick with it because having
used a Nokia myself I wouldn't go back now. I can't see how just leaving a
few pages up in Safari in the background would have run up the big bill. I
leave all kinds of pages open and my data usage doesn't go up that much, if
at all when safari is minimised. That said, only you know if you'd get more
out of your Nokia but so far I'd say almost everyone who sticks with it
grows to love the iphone as there are lots of apps which are useful to
visually impaired people which aren't easily (if at all) available on the
Nokia.
Perhaps you can explain to us what you find is long winded about using the
phone then maybe we can suggest easier ways of doing things. Even typing can
become much quicker given time, although yes many of us do resort to using
bluetooth keyboards for longer messages or using an Iphone 4S with
dictation. The bluetooth keyboards are small and really can end up meaning
you have a full computer in your pocket.

Subject: [access-uk] I-phone too long winded

Hi all

I've recently discovered, through a fairly large phone bill, that I need to
go through some sequence that is akin to a Freemasans handshake to close an
app such as Safari. In essence, I've searched the net, pressed the home
button to close it, so I thought, and got on with my day. However, as
I-phone users hopefully know, it did not close but carried on in the
background until I shut off the mobile at night.

I'm sorely tempted to go back to my Nokia N86, on which I just pressed one
button to close a so-called app. Texting is so much easier and I've got
K-nfb reader too.

The I-phone makes a nice I-pod accessory and has some gimmicky app's that I
would use once in a blue moon, but to do anything is too long winded to use
as a simple mobile.

I'm on a two year contract, but I'm willing to lose money on the deal just
to go back to simple.

So, guys, I'm looking for a good argument why I should keep my I-Phone 4 and
not go back to my N86.

Cheers

Barry
