Jim, can't say for certain as I don't have the iPhone, but it could be that you 
need to use the rotator dial, try placing 3 fingers on the screen, and twisting 
them to the right or left, you might find certain options this way, one of 
which could be what you want.

Hope that'll be of some use, it's a control in certain apps -

  Can someone point me in the direction where I can find the auto correct 
feature, so I can turn it off on the iphone 4g, if in fact it can be turned off
