don't worry, am not much better with NVDA but I needed to find a way to
go back. I still don't know stuff like browse mode and all that, least
not to my knowledge.

hi,
if using NVDA, please don't forget to hit backspace at any time. works
in firefox, and internet explorer. but not with JAWS.

I have Google set to open results in a new tab when I click on them.
This way I always have the results page available in the background
should I need to return to it which is usually the case. This can be
configured in Settings>Search settings>Where results open>Open each
selected result in a new browser window.
Having said that, you should be able to use the backspace key to
return to the previous page in Internet Explorer. No idea why it's
not working in your case.
Sorry I couldn't answer your query directly.

I’m using MS Windows 7 Pro. On previous operating systems, I’m not
sure about XP but on ones before that, if you did a Google search
and the one you selected was not the one you needed you were able
to hit the back button on Internet Explorer, and possibly other
browsers as well, and return to the list of choices the search
engine had found and then try another option. That seems not to be
the case these days. I have to close IE then re-open it and type
in the search parameter again. I’m used to doing this now but it
seems laborious to me so am I missing something?
Many thanks Roger
