It probably won't. Ten is the earliest I think. I might be wrong though,
as I don't have nine on this machine to test, though would think, due to IE
eight being fairly recent, that jaws nine would not work very well at all.

Hi Martin

I'm using JAWS 9 and don't want to upgrade just yet unless I absolutely have
to. How does 8 work with JAWS 9?

I E eight is good with jaws ten latest and jaws eleven. I've had no
problems.

Hi Barry

On this and other lists, people have been advising against an upgrade to
IE
8? Is this not the case then?

Barbra,

I've done some digging about for you.

I can not find anything specific to say that recent updates to IE7 can
cause
instabilitys. However, plenty of people complaining about IE7's general
instabilitys.

Rather than switching browsers, (nothing wrong with Firefox), I'm sure
you'd
prefer to stay with IE. Is there a reason why you're not upgrading to
IE8,
like old version of screen reader?

IE8 is more stable than IE7. I remember in 2007 when I was personally
using
IE7 in work it was unstable with multi-tabs.

So a Sys Restore may solve your problems but if some of those updates
where
security related it might be a false economy.

Barry.

Subject: [access-uk] Internet Explorer

Hi

Last week I installed Microsoft Updates. I did not upgrade to IE 8 but
installed some update files for IE 7. Since then my Internet has been
very

unstable. I get slow downloads of pages, a lot of messages saying
Internet

Explorer can not open the webpage, etc. Is there a known reasonf for
this?

And beside doing a System Restore, is there anyway I can go back to when
things were fine before I installed the updates?

Using XP pro.
