I believe Google Home has a built-in speaker and no external speaker
socket, but does work with Chromecast Audio.

I tried to buy a Google Home from John Lewis this weekend, but they'd
already sold out.

Hi,

No, the Amazon Echo has its own speaker, and indeed, doesn't have any
facility to plug into either speakers or headphones.  The Echo Dot has a
headphone socket.

Both do Internet radio just fine.

All the best

Steve

Hi, thanks for this. I was under the impression that the Amazon Echo only
played media from Amazon and connected third parties. And that, as with the
Google, you need external speakers....?

Hi all, can anyone recommend a vaguely accessible internet radio please?
Preferably something small with a built in speaker.

Thanks, BJ
