I never turn my computer off unless I am going away for a reasonable amount of time. I been doing this ever since I got broadband about 7 years ago. My previous computer lasted 5 years. This current one is running with no problems in it's third year. My electric bills haven't increased significantly, but I never turn my monitor off unless a sighted person is using the computer and obviously turn it off once they've finished. I've never been hacked.

Hi all,I've just had an interesting lecture off my girlfriend on what we should do to our computers at night. According to her, we should shut it down to save both memory and hard disk usage.
