George and Roger, I began with the printer, and it wanted to see the printer
first, ahead of installing the software, so I went that route too with the
scanner, but now I'll try it the other way about.

Pound to a bad penny, the installation instructions tell you
to install the software/drivers first, BEFORE you connect
the scanner.

I'm trying to reinstall my Epsom scanner, and have connected
it to the PC,
then inserted the software CD, but the found new hardware
wizard isn't able
to see the software CD. If I run the setup file from within

folder, should it install, and get picked up by the scanner,
